The Vision
Our vision is to create a comfortable holiday base for rest and relaxation in the peaceful outdoors in our home county of Cornwall. We are both experienced campers and have built up an understanding of what makes people want to keep coming back – by our own experiences from where we’ve been and what fits well with our own standards and business philosophy. We’re an enthusiastic, outgoing and personable team and want to bring a wealth of knowledge and ideas to enhance what is normal and traditionally offered at campsites – in keeping with the company’s vision of being in touch the great outdoors.
Here are some of the concepts that go to make up our Vision –
The Field
We’ve been looking to procure a field sized ideally between 1 – 3 acres – and it needs to be level, or only gently inclined and well drained. Although some trees would not be a stumbling block, good hedges, fences and borders are important to establish and maintain a secure boundary. It needs to be away from other dwellings, quiet and peaceful, yet with really good access from a council-maintained road.
In the most ideal of worlds it would have mains water, drainage and electricity in situ – though, if not present there are alternatives and other ways and means. Off grid doesn’t always equate to “the un-doable!”
The Location
We’re aiming for somewhere within 5-6 miles of the Cornish Coast, with a slight (highly personal) preference to the Atlantic rather than the English Channel coast. The essential pre-requisite is of course it that in order to get a licence for our site the usage of the land needs to be both permissible with the Council and also be acceptable to neighbours. For us, therefore, co-operation and community approval go hand in hand.
